Divorced:

Now What?

Post Divorce:
There is more to do.

You have finalized your divorce, now what to do?

Now is the time to update your life for post-divorce.  There are issues to be legally addressed to ensure the financial terms are properly executed and enforced. Additionally, there are personal and estate planning issues to be addressed to protect your current and future financial affairs.

The Bales Law Firm provides legal assistance by following through with the matters addressed in the final divorce decree of the transfer of assets dictated in the financial settlements such as:

  • IRA

  • 401K

  • Cash

  • Asset Retitling

  • House ownership transfer or sale

  • Establishment of agreed-upon insurance protections etc.

Update your life

One’s life estate should be addressed to update your life.

Life estate issues include executing a new will or amending an existing will, establishing a trust, updating beneficiaries, and executing new power of attorney documents. (You do not want your ex-spouse to have power over your life, do you?)

The Bales Law Firm is an advocate for our clients during the divorce process and continues to provide legal support after the divorce settlement to assist in your future legal protections in your updated life.

Leaving to chance that the settlement agreement’s financial stipulations are implemented could result in greater financial exposure.
